Would my African American nose be attractive with a slight slope or straight bridge? Upturned tip? (photo)

Question

I am 20 years old and have always wanted a nose job. I want to change the nostril size, width, bridge and the tip. I just feel I would be so much prettier with a more narrow, smaller nose and I think noses with a slight upturn look feminine and cute. My nose is the only part of my appearance that I am very unhappy with. I'm looking to get this done at the end of July. All answers/opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It really is only what you think that matters. Both cold be achieved. Considering the starting shape and size of your nose, you can expect a lot of change, but there willbe alimit because of the thickness and stiffnes of your overlying skin.

The rhinoplasty procedure can address reducing the nostril size with an alar-plasty, and narrowing of the wide bridge with osteotomies of the nasal bones. To narrow the tip, suture techniques to the lower lateral cartilages are performed with the conservative cartilage removal when necessary. Very slight upturned tip would be acceptable.   Thick skin will be an impediment to seeing very refined result of the tip.

You are correct in your analysis of your nose. You should change the nostril size, width, reduce the bridge, improve tip projection with a slight upturn depending on your height. I would favor a straight profile in a patient with thick skin but that is always discussed during consultation. Consider a chin implant which will give the illusion of a smaller nose.
