I went through 4 months of constant stress and look like I have aged at least 5 years in this time. I mostly notice volume loss, but also even changes of the shape of my face. Can you please help me pinpoint the main differences? And then recommend treatments to help me look like my old, healthy, vibrant self?
Answer: Volume loss and change of shape in the face. What can I do to look like my old self again? I find that the best method of correcting volume loss in the face is a combination of microfat grafting combined with PRF . PRF is similar to PRP but has a higher content of growth factors. See attached video.

Answer: Is an early maintenance mini facelift really effective? Great series of posted photos. Best to start with HA fillers/Sculptra in a few sessions or until you see a resultant appearance you are pleased with. Expect to spend $8,000+. Or I might offer nano, micro fat grafting, fees in $12,000 ranges. Best to virtual consult with....

Answer: Loss of youth The loss of a youthful appearance happens quickly and every year will continue to take its toll. Early signs of fascial aging are generally best treated by first and foremost wearing sunscreen and avoiding extensive sun exposure every day for the rest of your life. For actual treatments filler and Botox done by a really talented provider can go a long ways. For volume restoration fillers are quite spectacular and the best option.Permanent solutions are not as good as fillers. Procedures like grafting fat is inferior to fillers with the exception of the lack of permanence using temporary products. Compared to all other more permanent options fillers are precise, predictable and extremely forgiving. To get an idea of what’s possible using only fillers I suggest you consider taking a look at the website of Dr. David Mabrie in San Francisco. He’s a facial plastic surgeon whose practice is devoted exclusively to only doing volume restoration of the face using fillers. His work is some of the best I’ve ever seen and seen his results can be a good template for what the gold standard is and what can be achieved using these products. There are a lot of people involved in the medical aesthetics industry and rules for who can administer these treatments vary from state to state. Some plastic surgeons do all the work with facial volume restoration including were using fillers themselves while others hire nurses to do it for them. I think plastic surgeons are wise to not let employees do these treatments but instead do them themselves to maintain skills and maintain a clear understanding of what works well in facial aesthetics. There are some advantages of being treated by those who have the most ideal educational backgrounds. These would be board-certified plastic surgeons and facial plastic surgeons. They have the most in-depth understanding of facial anatomy and physiology. It does not however guarantee that they are the most skilled or experienced at these type of procedures though. I suggest having multiple consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons in your community to get a good assessment and better understanding of the variety of treatment options. There are a host of different treatment options other than just Botox and fillers. Some of these are better than others. Look for providers who have sufficient backgrounds, skill and experience with overall excellent reputations. You can always ask to see before and after pictures before having treatments or simply hear what each provider has to say during consultations. There is a substantial difference among different providers so vetting providers the best you can and trying to choose the most talented one is definitely worthwhile. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
