Will asymmetrical gummy smile Botox change my nose anatomy permanently? (photos)

Question

I got Botox to try and even out my lip when I talk, but I did NOT have a gummy smile. I do not think that going the botox for gummy smile route was the best idea now that I am dealing with a wonky nostril due to the asymmetrical injection. My question is, will my nostril ever go back to normal? It has been 4 months…

Botox results are always temporary and will wear off. Sometimes they will wear off at 3-4 months, sometimes they will wear off at 6-9 months. But give it time and, rest assured, the results will always wear off. Whenever we are trying to correct an asymmetry with Botox, there is the risk of causing another asymmetry or issue (aka your "wonky nostril"). It's a "give and take" with Botox and results are not always predictable. But luckily, they will never be permanent.

Hi @Dnibcn93! Luckily, the effects of Botox are temporary.  In most cases, the results should last about 3-4 months. However, I do sometimes see patients where it takes 6 months for the effect to wear off completely. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

The effects of Botox are temporary.  Typically they last 3 to 6 months depending on the muscle strength and the time the body takes to metabolize it.  Any changes from one treatment of Botox should revert to original state once the product has worn off.

I feel that your smile and nose look great in the before and after Botox pics.  I cannot appreciate what the change is in the nostril?
That being said, I feel the Botox effect should slowly resolve over the next 2 months.  It usually lasts only 3 months, however, I do have some patients that it takes a full 6 months for the effect to wear off completely.
