Cold sores around mouth and on face while on accutane? (Photo)

This is my 4th month on accutane and I have developed cold sores around my mouth and they're spreading to the whole of my face. What is the problem?

You need to be on a medication daily like Valacyclovir or Acyclovir. You have the herpes virus in your body - always will - and so the dryness of your lips from Accutane is triggering outbreaks. You will need to take this medication daily for the rest of your life to limit outbreaks. It wasn't caused by the Accutane or anything like that, but it is being triggered by it currently. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion.
