I have a tattoo on my inner wrist that I have to get removed. My army recruiter told me that as long as there isn't a bad scar after the removal I would be fine. I'm just worried because I've heard that it can leave bad scarring.

Answer: Scarring and Tattoo Removal Thank you for your question. In the past, tattoo removal was a surgical process that would often leave a scar, but modern laser tattoo removal allows you to remove nearly any tattoo completely, without surgery and without a scar. Tattoos are highly variable, and the only way to know what results you can expect and how long they make take to achieve is to have your tattoo evaluated in person by a laser expert. For more information on laser tattoo removal, I recommend getting a in person consultation with a board-certified dermatologist.

Answer: Risk of Scarring Hi,the risk o scarring for a tattoo on the inner side of the wrist is not very high. But it is important to understand your previous history of healing post any injury like a keloidal tendency or hypertrophic scar in the past.Otherwise with a negative past history of such conditions the chances of scarring is minimal.
