How many sessions should I expect to remove these homemade tattoos? (Photo)

Question

So I have two "stick and poke" tattoos on the inside of my ring and middle finger on my left hand. Tomorrow I will be going to see someone about having them removed using the Nd:YAG laser. The tattoos are already faded as they are approximately a year old, I used a bottle of Indian ink from Walmart, and am clearly not very skilled in the art of tattooing. I was curious if anyone could give me some insight as to how long this might take and how many sessions I should expect.

Homemade tattoos are the easiest to remove, you could be lucky and need as few as 3 sessions. Black in generally comes out much faster then any color and if they were applied with a needle and not a guy, the deposition should be fairly superficial. An Nd:Yag laser is exactly what you need. It will still take a series, between 3-6, treatments to remove this. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a laser tattoo removal expert to get a time-frame. Best, Dr. Emer

The tattoo can easily be removed completely. The Nd:YAG laser may take 8- 15+ treatments. The PicoSure laser on the other hand targets black ink and that "homemade" tattoo can be removed with 3-6 treatments. Sessions are 6 weeks apart. Try to find a doctor with a Pico laser if possible.

This should be fairly easy to remove. Any newer laser will deliver you great results if removal is done by an expert. We use Picosure laser and it is great. It removes tattoos in fever number of treatments and minimizes the chance of complications. Good luck!
