Hello dentists! My parents fed me too many fluoride pills as a child and I have been left with fluorosis. I'm getting married this year and I would like to know if there are any relatively inexpensive, less invasive procedures that will give a good result. Not really wanting to go the crown/ vaneer route because of the invasiveness. Is there a whitening technique or a way to remove surface stains you can suggest? Thanks so much for your advice!
Answer: Least Invasive Solutions for Dental Fluorosis
To eliminate difficult stains from teeth, like fluorosis or tetracycline staining I would suggest a whitening system called Kor Whitening. The very best whitening results are obtained from a combination of in-office power bleaching (highest concentration of bleach delivered in a highly controlled environment) coupled with take home bleaching trays. To eliminate superficial white spots from teeth you might also consider microabrasion.
Good luck with your teeth AND your marriage!

Answer: Options for your Smile
Your white spots could be due to a fever as a child or a number of other things and may not have had anything to do with taking fluoride as a child. Nevertheless, you need to explore options to help get rid of them. We love KOR deep bleaching for whitening followed by treatment with ICON. ICON was made by a German company that figured out how to fill in the pitted white spots. If you care about whitening, do that first and then do the ICON. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!

Answer: Least Invasive Procedure for Fluorosis
Hi Babe! .Fluorosis stains used to be treated aggressively with composite veneers, hydrogen peroxide, heat, phosphoric acid with Superoxol, porcelain veneers and crowns. Thankfully, it is no longer necessary to compromise a healthy tooth structure to achieve optimal esthetic results. The combination of therapy of micro abrasion , MI Paste application and take home bleaching usually will give you the result you are looking for. If the take home whitening is not enough, Kor Whitening will pretty much take any stain out of the enamel.Hope this helps and have a beautiful smile on your wedding day!

Answer: Micro-abrasion with whitening for least invasiness
Micro -abrasion and whitening will be least invasive but results can be unpredictable depending upon the goal. Veneers or bonding will give better esthetic result but might need some reduction of tooth structure. Best of luck
