How long is it fine to leave a ruptured silicone gel implant in when it is encapsulated?

Thank you for your question.  Waiting a few months is not generally a problem with a ruptured silicone implant.  As your surgeon said, the vast majority of the silicone stays within the capsule around the implant.  However, the longer you wait, the thicker the capsule may get. You have a 10-12% chance of the MRI being wrong and the implant may actually be OK.

If your surgeon agrees, you should be fine to wait until May for your surgery.  Best wishes for a successful surgery.
