Thank you for your question zoeysmith982. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is anoutstanding treatment that can address multiple aspects of aging in a singletreatment. There are no studies on fractional CO2 laser resurfacing including women who are breast feeding. Therefore the safety and efficacy of this treatment for such women is unknown. I avoid treating women who are breast feeding because I do not know the risks. I also agree with Dr. Maini that anesthetic from numbing cream or nerve blocks can be absorbed and possibly get into breast milk which would not be safe while nursing. Please consult with a doctor for specificrecommendations. Good luck!
Dear Zoey Thank you for your question.I would suggest absolutely not safe to undergo this treatment because the anaesthetic is fat soluble and will end up in breast milk. This is quite apart from the difficulties of keeping the area clean while feeding.Best wait till finished.Thank You Kind Regards Dr Dinesh Maini
