We discourage shaving with a razor before any surgical procedure; razors induce micro-nicks in the top skin layer that can lead to an infection (a problem in implant cases). The preoperative wipes may be chlorhexidine-based; this will especially irritate freshly shaven skin. Let your MD know about this; it will likely resolve by tomorrow on its own. I delay surgery (and cancel implant cases) if there is any skin irritation/open wounds for infectious reasons.
