Answer: Can I wear cotton pants under my compression garment? 12 days postop VASER to hips and I’m having severe itching. Thank you for your question. Yes you can, but I don’t believe that will resolve your issues. Itching happens from the skin getting dry from surgery and also the garment. After VASER liposuction, I use Gabapentin for my patients to minimize these symptoms for a month postop, and I start them 3 days preop. Talk to your surgeon. Good luck with your healing.

Answer: Compression Garment Question-Ask Your Doctor & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave I recommend following up with your Doctor about your compression garment. I have my patients wear customized compression for 3-6 weeks straight then overnight for 3-6 months after their procedure. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Compression garment and itching I think it would be fine to wear a thin cotton legging under your compression garment to keep the garment from contacting your skin directly if you feel you might be having a reaction to the garment. You will want to make sure it fits smoothly under your garment without causing any wrinkles or indentions. Also please do check with your doctor who did the procedure to check and see what may be causing the itching and if you have a rash that needs to be addressed. Many times it is just your body's normal healing that causes the itching. You can also take an oral antihistamine such as Zyrtec to see if that helps with the itching.
