Recovery time after Vaser Lipo - how long before I can go on holiday?

I'm looking into Vaser Lipo and was just wondering, I have a holiday booked in September, how long after the procedure would I need to leave before its okay to be going on holiday and being out in the sun?

Hi, pain and discomfort varies greatly between patients. For your guidance: 
#swelling and bruising may persist for up to 6-8 weekspain medications will be provided for first several days and as neededlight exercises such as walking, swimming, or riding a stationary bicycle is typically recommended after two or three weeks to minimize #adhesion between skin and deeper tissue circumferential pressure is usually recommended for 4-6 weeks then beyond 6 weeks you may switch to an exercise garment (Lycra or Spandex)You can be out in the sun when all the bruises have disappeared which usually takes about 2-3 weeks. It is recommended to cover up incisions / scars to protect from sun exposure because #sun bathing or #tanning can aggravate the #scars and can make them permanently dark. Don't forget to use a sunscreen with SPF of at least 30. There will be decreased sensation in the first few weeks or months after surgery and may result in accidental sunburn. Be careful.
All in all, activity is largely dependent upon how the patient feels. It is mostly based on the level of soreness or bruising that you may experience. Be sure that you follow your surgeon's instructions as to caring for yourself during #recovery (such as wearing garments or lymphatic massage). Liposuction downtime really depends on the doctor performing the procedure.  If this is a hi definition procedure, it takes much more downtime because of the superficial liposuction involved as compared to traditional fat reduction liposuction.  I suggest speaking to your physician.  Most patients are back at work in 2-3 days with normal methods including basic vaser liposuction.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It all depends on your BMI and how much fat you are having removed and your age, your general health, level of daily activity and expectations. The minimum recovery for lipo, vaser or otherwise, is one month but may take up to 6 months. You need to discuss this at length with your surgeon.
