I am currently in talks with a few surgeons and thinking over getting a breast reduction. I am 23 and currently. a 30E looking to be a small C. I recently had a consultation with a plastic surgeon who told me I had tuberous breasts. This is the first time I had ever heard of this, so I wanted to get some second opinions here. I was also curious to know how different the procedure would be if that was the case?
Answer: Tuberous breasts or sagging and how different would the procedure be? Your breasts do not appear tuberous to me. I would recommend reducing and lifting the larger side then lifting the smaller side to match.

Answer: Tuberous breasts or sagging and how different would the procedure be? Hi, Thank you for the question. Based on your photos, you do not have Tuberous Breast deformity but you do have significant breast asymmetry, and also heavy droopy breast appearance. The best way to achieve a more youthful, smaller and uplifted breast appearance is to perform breast reductions surgery. During breast reduction surgery, excess breast tissue is removed, the breast is lifted and nipple/areola is typically made smaller. It is easiest to think of breast reduction as including the breast lift. In patients with significant breast asymmetry like yours, sometimes more breast tissue/weight is removed on the heavier side versus on the smaller side. Schnur Sliding Scale is a scale used by many insurance companies as a guideline for how much breast tissue should be removed in order to improve your physical symptoms. In addition, most insurances in order to approve the surgery, will require for 2-3 letters of medical necessity (from your chiropractor, primary doctor, OBGYN, Dermatologist, etc) demonstrating that your physical symptoms due to large breasts are not improving with conservative management. I suggest that you seek an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in Breast Reduction surgeries to further discuss your options, specific techniques, concerns and expectations. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. I hope this helps.Best regards, Dr. Karanetz Dr. Irena KaranetzBreast Fellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Breast Reduction Thank you for your question and photos. From the photos, I see you have Breast Ptosis (aka sagging breasts) grade III. Some surgeons might diagnose Tuberous Breast Deformity as well. However, the treatment is the same anyway. You need a breast reduction surgery. I would like to recommend Vertical-scar Breast Reduction.

Answer: Tuberous breasts or sagging and how different would the procedure be? (Photos) Thank you for your question. According to the pictures, they appear both (tubular and saggy). However, I would suggest a breast reduction and lift, so the outcome will be natural, it will meet your expectations, the aim is to lift your breasts by removing excess skin. Breast lifts aim to move the areola and nipple up, improve the shape of the breasts either by reorganizing the breast tissue or, if this is not enough, placing a prosthesis to give them volume, depending on what you want. Without an examination that can measure key breast parameters and permit an in-depth discussion of your desired goals and outcomes, I can only recommend that. It is my hope that it will be helpful to you.

Answer: Bellesoma Breast Reduction The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
