Hello, I'm fifteen and I'm wondering if there's any way to prevent breasts growing any bigger. Yeah, I know that I'm in my rapid growth state and all, but there might be exercises to prevent this, right? My mom told me if I get into a specific sport, that'll be able to help prevent breast growth.
Answer: Breast growth Dear Dhalia unfortunately there is no way of stopping breast growth as it is controlled by your hormones which are not affected by exercise. I would recommend seeing a Plastic Surgeon if you are concerned about the size.

Answer: Breast growth Unfortunately there is not really anything you can do to stop them from growing unless that growth can attributed to weight gain. Given your age your hormones are in charge and you cannot alter them. There is a diagnosis for young women with rapidly growing large breasts but the only treatment is surgical. The best thing you can do is keep your body weight as "normal" as possible to ensure that excess weight is not contributing to their size.

Answer: Undesired Breast Growth In Teenagers. Thank you for your question. Breast growth during puberty is caused by normal stimulation from hormones which spike during this time. As those hormones stabilize breast size also tends to stabilize. Exceptions to this normal trend include weight gain, hormonal sensitivity and pregnancy. Weight gain can cause undesired breast enlargement and exercise and diet can help to address this issue. Hormonal sensitivity of the breast tissue can cause breast enlargement that causes back and neck pain. In certain patients and situations there are medications that can help to block the effect of the hormones, but there are side effects. Definitive, treatment of this condition is usually a breast reduction. Pregnancy can also cause breast enlargement that tends to subside once the hormonal stimulation and breast feeding ends. Discuss your concerns further with your parents and consider a consultation with your pediatrician or a plastic surgeon . Best wishes.

Answer: Exercise May Not Do the Trick If you are of normal weight, exercise will not help you reduce your breast size or prevent it from growing bigger. For a permanent solution, breast reduction surgery is the only answer, although it involves a rather strict patient selection to minimize risk of complications. Breast reduction is best performed on someone whose breast development has stabilized. However, it could be performed earlier than ideal if it is causing severe physical discomfort, chronic back pain, rounded shoulders, and other untoward side effects of overlarge, heavy breasts.

Answer: No Great question. Unfortunately at the moment we do not have a way of stopping breast growth in medicine. There is no exercise of over the counter medication that can stop your breasts from growing. Being thinner and leaner in general means you are less likely to have large breasts, just as if you gain weight your breasts may also get a bit larger, but outside of that there is nothing we can do other than just see how they develop. Once you are done developing, if they are large and bothersome you can consider a breast reduction, which makes for some of the happiest patients that I care for. -Dr. David Mattos, New York Plastic Surgical Group
