Is an X-ray harmful after having a breast augmentation done? Should I let them know I have implants beforehand?

There is no harm to having an x ray done to your implants.  The radiation will not harm your implants.

are not harmful to you if only done sporadically as it is for most people.  Your implants will block out your lungs in the frontal view so I would suggest every time you have radiographic procedures done so they can plan more views if they believe it will be needed to see what they need to see. 

All diagnostic tests have some intrinsic risks but are necessary often to confirm a diagnosis.  No one wants more irradiation exposure.  The higher the dose of radiation the more significant the risk.  Most diagnostics test are designed to get maximum results with a minimal radiation dosage.  Your ordering physician understands the need for studies and could address your relative risks.   Best wishes

Having a chest X ray after breast augmentation is not harmful to the implants.  yes you should let them know so they account for that when they read the X Rays.  Best wishes.
