I had a rhinoseptoplasty done about 8 days ago and he took most of my stitches out but told me he was going to leave some and that they would fall out by themselves. Well the place he left the stitches is around my left nostril tip and it's not fully healed like the right side. Also my stitch is hanging out and the drive to my surgeon is about a good hour and I don't have time to go back and forth. I just need a second opinion.
Answer: 1 week post op, some advices: Thank you very much for enquire. It's too early to make value judgments with only 1 week after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity. In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months. To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Rhinoplasty Scar Hello,That's not the tip of your nose. It looks like you healed slower than expected as there appears to be some separation where the stitches were removed. It is not certain that you will scar poorly, and you should keep covered in antibiotic ointment frequently.Best of luck!

Answer: Stiches on the face In general, stitches on the face that are external should be removed on day 7 or they can risk leaving of track marks. You surgeon may have left your stitches in longer if he/she felt that you needed a litlle longer support.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Incision will Stitches leave a Scar Dear m, I must say it is a bit of an unusual incision unless this is just the camera angle. With that said, I remove a few stitches on day three and all stitches are removed before the seventh day in order for the incision to heal properly, not leave any line of demarcation, or track marks. I personally use an inverted V incision a little higher on the columella where it heals quickly and is virtually not visible within a few weeks. I have included a link below of an example of an open rhinoplasty incision at seven days post surgery. Since your surgeon is a distance away I would suggest emailing him photographs for evaluation and perhaps he knows someone in your area that can remove the pieces of suture that have been left behind. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
