Moderate or high profile for my desired look?

Hi.. thank you for the question and photos... In my practice, very large implants have cause expansion of the NAC and ptosis in short time. In my opinion you can achieve your desire look with 450/500cc High Profile under muscle.  

Hello,There is a reason your doctor felt there is a limit to the size he would use: it's because your breast tissue is unlikely able to accommodate larger implants reliably and may lead to complications requiring reoperation. Breast augmentation is not always about getting whatever size you desire. Sometimes what you want is not physically possible. You should go visit a few other reputable surgeons to confirm this. Best of luck.

Only after a thorough physical examination could a recommendation on size and shape be done. Moderate + is wider and more natural looking and high profile are narrower and more projecting. I find this method for sizing works the best in my practice:1) Guiding patients to explore reasonable options for breast implant size, usually two to three similar sizes, which allows the patient to visualize how different volumes affect their breast cup. 2) The best guide for a final breast implant size recommendation is derived using measurements from the patient’s own breasts and chest. 3) When measurements are considered then options for sizes can be presented. 4) I use the Mentor Volume Sizing System of breast sizers to demonstrate how these different volumes will look on a patient’s body. 5) This methods offers good reliability and is simple to use, but is not perfect.The ultimate decision can only be made by you and your plastic surgeon. When patients feel unsure about a size and shape, we ask them back to the office to try sizing until they're very confident with the choice they're making. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

Thank you for your question. I think you would get closer to your desired look with the high profile style of implants. I would recommend choosing an implant based on your measurements. You will typically have more problems with very large implants. Best of luck

Thank you for the question and pictures. Based on your photographs, I think that you are starting at a good place should have a nice outcome with breast augmentation surgery. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, and computer imaging) will be critical. You may wish to meet with your plastic surgeon, preferably prior to the date of surgery, to communicate questions/concerns/goals again. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:

1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.
2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals.
In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example, I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful.
Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice.
3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers.

The long term consequences of going with such large implants fair outweigh the short term benefits. Try to be more realistic with the size you select.  It is best to go by your own breast measurements when selecting the appropriate size implants.  Your surgeon has provided a reasonable recommendation based on your measurements.  I would follow their recommendation.

Your best bet when you are trying to decide on implants is to try on sizers of the exact implant you are considering inside a very tight sports bra. This will give you a close idea of what you will look like. More importantly the dimensions or width of the implants need to match and fit your frame and body. Given your desire for fullness and the size of implants you are considerng, I think you will be happier with a high profile implant as opposed to a moderate plus implant.  However, be careful about going to too large a size.  The larger the size, the higher the risk of a problem with capsular contracture and general discomfort.  Consult with your surgeon and follow their advice.  Best wishes, Dr Lepore.

Your goal will never be met by moderate profile natural looking implants. You need high or even ultra high profiles properly fit to your base width.
