Should I have J-Plasma before or after fat grafting?

Question

I have mild sagging on my face and sunken and delicate under eyes due to fat loss/ aging. I am thinking of doing micro fat grafting under my eyes and temple, upper cheek areas as well as J-Plasma on my eye area and face as well. When should I do J-Plasma? before or after fat grating? I was thinking of doing J-Plasma first because I somehow thought if the skin is tighter, has more firmness, it could absorb/hold fat better?

Hi.  Both treatments can be done during the same anesthetic and recovery time period will not be doubled.  You will improve the skin with the Renuvion/J Plasma and address volume deficits with the fat grafting--technically I would personally execute the Renuvion/J Plasma first and then the fat transfer.  My patients have been extremely pleased with the results and longevity!  Best wishes, Dr. Doolabh

I was one of the first in the coutnry to use this device and I use it daily.  this can be done together, externally and internally.  I suggest only going to an expert tho, doing this externally has major danger if not done well by someone experieced.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question. Both treatments require local anesthesia, both treatments can be done at the same operation. Jplasma resurfaces the skin while fat grafting adds volume, two important components of facial rejuvenation. Fat grafting also adds stem cells and growth factors that can help the healing process of the resurfacing treatment. I wish you the best with your decision.

I am not a fan of J Plasma. It has no way to monitor energy delivery and I'm concerned about devascularization of the skin. I know some docs who do both procedures simultaneously. I would direct you more towards the FaceTite over J Plasma/Renuvion.
