Am I candidate for an alarplasty/alar base reduction? (photos)

An alarplasty will improve the width and flare of the nostrils, but you would more likely benefit from a rhinoplasty to address the tip maintain an attractive balance. The best way to determine what specific changes will look good on your face, and what changes are surgically possible, is to do your research to find the top rhinoplasty specialists and consult with several of them in person. During your consultation, your photos can be computer-morphed to show how the changes to your nose will affect your appearance. Are you a candidate for an alar plasty? An alertplasty is performed to narrow the width of the base of the nostrils where they attach to the face. This with is best seen in a basil view which is a photograph taken from underneath the nose looking up at the nostrils. Without this view it is impossible to make an accurate assessment of your alar base with. In the profile views which you do show, it appears that your nasal tip is bulbous and over projecting. Perhaps you should consider a nasal tip plasty along with an Alarplasty or perhaps a full rhinoplasty depending on what your goals are and what you and your surgeon agree to.

You are a good candidate for Alarplasty. However keep in mind that the tip is also large and after an alarplasty might look even bigger. Consider a Tip-plasty at the same time as the alarplasty.
