IPL for brown spots causing white spots?

Hi had ipl on my chest for brown spots but I think it has given me more visible white spots. I definitely have these white spots on my legs (Idiopathic guttate).will I'll have made these white age spots more visible on my chest?I am due to go back for a 2nd ill in 4 weeks but I am unsure now in case it just makes the white age spots more visible.will it?

Great question. There are 2 possibilities. It is not uncommon that spots that already existed become more apparent as you start to improve the sun damage. The other possibility is that the settings were so intense that they injured the pigment producing cells in those area and caused some hypopigmentation. This usually only occurs if you had a burn. What would be ideal would be to review your before and afters with your practitioner to determine if these are truly new white spots, and if so, do you want to proceed with further IPL.
