Answer: Bump after chalazion treatment Hello,As mentioned by the panel member, having an additional treatment is not unusual for optimal results. We recommend waiting a minimum of 4 weeks between steroid injections if this was the course of treatment you had. Your physician will be able to offer the best feedback for this point in time of your healing.

Answer: Most of these chalazia do not need surgery. The vast majority of these lesions respond beautifully to a kenalog injection which is a steroid. Occasionally a second injection is needed. Unfortunately, surgeons don't make as much money for the injection compared to the surgical removal. Some are not aware that the lesion is so sensitive to the steroids. I recommend letting the eyelid heal about 2 months. If your bump is still bothering you, consider a kenalog injection rather than more chalazion surgery.

Follow up with your doctor to discuss. In the meantime, you can consider using warm compresses over the area. Best wishes.
