Best to discuss with your surgeon who performed the initial procedure. Eyelid chalazion can sometimes be tough to remove and require secondary procedures. See following link. I have personally have had them myself that needed to be removed. Video on the link below.
Hello,As mentioned by the panel member, having an additional treatment is not unusual for optimal results. We recommend waiting a minimum of 4 weeks between steroid injections if this was the course of treatment you had. Your physician will be able to offer the best feedback for this point in time of your healing.
The vast majority of these lesions respond beautifully to a kenalog injection which is a steroid. Occasionally a second injection is needed. Unfortunately, surgeons don't make as much money for the injection compared to the surgical removal. Some are not aware that the lesion is so sensitive to the steroids. I recommend letting the eyelid heal about 2 months. If your bump is still bothering you, consider a kenalog injection rather than more chalazion surgery.
Thank you for posting your question. As discussed by my colleagues, chalazion removal can sometimes require a secondary procedure and a challenge to remove. Follow up with your doctor to discuss. In the meantime, you can consider using warm compresses over the area. Best wishes.
