For standard surgical procedures, we advise that hair dye prior to the procedure is okay. We do typically recommend waiting to dye your hair for a period of time following the procedure which is influenced by which surgery you had and where the incision lines are placed. It is recommended you discuss with your treating provider prior to making this decision.
I would not recommend having your hair dyed within a week of having a cyst on your scalp removed. You may want to check with the surgeon who will be performing your procedure, as each surgeon will have their own preferences.
Probably for your best chance of healing and best cosmetic outcome, you might want to wait until the sutures or stitches are removed before getting your hair colored. That being said, I have had plenty of patients have a scalp biopsy or cyst removal, and only told me their hair was recently colored after we had done the procedure, and they came out just fine. So discuss it with your dermatologist, but they will probably advise you to wait. Good luck!
Hello and thank you for your question! I would recommend that you wait until after the incision is fully healed prior to doing any type of hair treatment. If you must dye your hair before the procedure I would recommend doing it at least a week prior. It is always best to call the doctor with whom you are scheduled with to get specific directions.
First check with the dermatologist or surgeon who did the procedures for you, but generally you can have your hair colored and processed a few weeks after the sutures are removed. You would not want any chemicals on the scalp until the wounds are well closed and have no more open skin...
Hello and thank you for your question! I would recommend gently massaging the area of hardness and follow up with the surgeon who performed the procedure. It is normal for there to be firmness after a cyst removal but you should always speak with the doctor who seen you.As far as the redness...
Sebaceous cysts on the face are not typically treated with cortisone injections. If in fact you did have a sebaceous cyst then the proper treatment is surgical removal. It is unfair for anyone to comment on your specific case without having seen BEFORE photos or having examined you in person. T...
First, i expect few (zero?) other doctors on this site to ever respond to a post like this. I am sorry to hear about your result. Of course it is not possible for me to comment of what your cyst might have looked like before and what was required to remove it since I could not know those thing...
It's understandable to be concerned about changes in movement after a procedure. The inability to move your left eyebrow and the left side of your forehead could be due to temporary nerve irritation or trauma from the surgery. During the removal of a cyst, especially in areas near nerves, there...
Your incision does not look infected. The hardness and swelling can be either scar tissue, or depending on the size of the cyst that was removed you may have a small collection of fluid called a seroma. I recommend following up with your surgeon for an in-person examination. Best wishes.
