I had setumplasty and turbinoplasty 6 days ago, getting my cast off on Thursday. I have only eaten soft foods like gelatin, yogurt, soup, smoothies, etc. How any days do you recommend to wait after nose surgery to eat all kind of food again?

Answer: Eating after Septorhinoplasty and Turbinate Reduction Dear johannarichards, Each surgeon has a different post operative protocol for their patients and you should follow your surgeons requests. I prefer my patients who have undergone the same procedures to stay away from dairy products as they have a tendency to cause some congestion. However, I would allow my patients to start introducing foods that were allowing some chewing at this point. Good foods for this would be thinly sliced chicken, baked potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes, chili that is not spicy, cooked vegetables, bran muffins, fruit, (papaya and pineapple) are especially good for their ability to reduce bruising or swelling. At my patients pre-operative appointment my patient consultant reviews the patients diet so that they may prepare to have everything at home for the post operative recovery period.
