I had a Botox 6 years ago and the only reaction was both of my eyes drooped for approximately 6mos. Then, I tried doing it again 10 days ago. My eyes started to swell on the second day up to now (10 days). I have been taking Benadryl 50 mg plus Loratadine and still didn’t work. Pls advise.
Answer: Complications after Botox eyelid swelling can be a result of different causes- sinus problems unrelated to Botox- allergic contact dermatitits to numbing cream applied prior to Botox- forehead droop brining the upper eyelids down with the eyebrows after Botox relaxed the forehead lifting muscles too much-allergic reaction to a product in Botox is very rare and if occurs would be possibly more generalized than limited to the area of treatment.please see your provider for an evaluation as they know where they inserted your BotoxThe information provided in Dr. Shelton's answer is for educational purposes only and is not intended to constitute medical advice. Answer: Eye swelling after Botox It is difficult to say without looking at a photo, but typically, what people think is swelling is increased laxity of the lower eye lids or drooping of the upper eyelids due to Botox weakening the muscles. If you have itching and changes to the skin, it could be an allergy. Make sure your doctor is aware that this happened so that they can look at it at determine if you are sensitive to the Botox.

Answer: Botox and Swelling Without photos, it is difficult to answer your question. However swelling can occur after any injection and this does not sound like an allergic reaction. I would follow up with your injector to determine if the swelling you believe is occurring is actually heaviness in the brow which can occur when Botox is not placed appropriately. Best wishes,

Answer: Eyes drooping and swelling after Botox Hi. I would follow up with the injecting doctor. It would be very unusual for Botox to cause drooping of the eyelids for 6 months as it wears off by 3-4 months. The swelling is also quite unusual. There is a possibility of being allergic to Botox if you are allergic to egg whites. Botox degrades completely by 3-4 months so any effects like this should subside by then if you are having a reaction to the product. You could try Xeomin in the future. Do follow up with your doctor on this.
