I’ve got an occasion coming up so I wanted nicer-looking skin. I got a Fraxel Laser treatment this week, then my esthetician suggested we do another peel this week (meladeep mask). I am worried this may be overwhelming for my skin, especially since I have sensitive/thin skin. She recommended to do both because I have some hyperpigmentation from previous sunburn and acne. Do you advice me to proceed with the meladeep peel, considering my skin has only just healed from my laser treatment?

Hello. Thank you for your question. The chemical peel will help with the superficial hyperpigmentation and the Aerolase Neo will help with the deeper pigmentation.

The best skin preparation for a chemical peel is first isopropyl alcohol and then acetone. They both degrease the skin, but acetone can remove more. However, it works best after the alcohol cleanse. Then, the peel is more effective.
