If you have dark marks from acne and it is what we call "post inflammatory hyperpigmentation" , accutane can help with the dark marks by helping clear the cystic acne and deeper lesions, thereby reducing the chance of dark marks even starting. If you have existing spots, by getting the active acne treated, your existing marks will gradually lighten with gentle skin care and good sun protection. It is not possible to evaluate your skin and make specific recommendations without an actual visit to your dermatologist, who is an expert on acne treatment and skin pigment, so please see an expert.
