Bumps on eyelid and corner of eye. How can I get these removed? (Photo)

I’m a 35 year old woman and I've recently noticed all sorts of bumps in the area around my left eye. As you can see from the photo, they're not quite pimples but are equally as unsightly. What might cause this? I asked my derm but she sort of blew me off saying that it was very close to my eye and too risky to treat considering "you hardly notice it". Is there anything I can do to get these removed? How can I prevent more from developing? Thanks!
