Bullhorn lip lift post op intense swelling? 7 hours post procedure. (Photos)

Question

I just had a bullhorn lip lift done about 7 hours ago. Of course I knew I was going to get swelling but I feel like this is getting a little Intense. My doctor says it is normal and advised me to just ice it and keep taking my painkillers, steroids, and antibiotics. Please look at the pictures. And tell me if such swelling is normal.

Thank you for your pictures.  Everyone swells and responds differently to procedures, but also to techniques performed.  If your doc feels comfortable with your current post op process, that is the most important factor.  Keep them informed of how you are doing and ask them if there is anything that can be done or to be expected as far as improving how quickly your swelling can be expected to go down. First few hours after surgery can be scary.  But remember that going forth it only gets better.  Hang in there! You will do great I'm sure.

Hello solSwelling should subside within 1-2 weeks and tightness should diminish within a few months. Mild discomfort may occur but should not hinder day-to-day tasks. The lip will be a little higher than when it settle into position.  I  would advice you visit or contact your plastic surgeon about this concern.
