I have talked extensively about the use of fillers in the buttock/hip dip region in social media. The FDA available fillers that are typically used for buttock/hip dip injections (Renuva, Sculptra, and Bellafill) are all approved for use in the face. They are packaged (small syringes or vials) and priced accordingly for sale to physicians. This means that our costs are relatively high for very small amounts of product. For example, Sculptra costs me about $400 per vial, but may be as low as $300 to high volume providers. Physicians who inject the buttocks/hip dip areas commonly use up to 20 vials per side, a total of 40 vials, and charge anywhere from $20000 or more for that amount. Assuming that one vial of Sculptra is equal to 1 cc of augmentation (more or less for the sake of simplicity), all of which will be gone in a year, you are paying $20000 for 20 cc of augmentation per side. Looking at your photos, I estimate that you would need about 250 cc per side to eradicate your hips dips, or at least 100 cc per side to soften them. So, the physician's cost to deliver 250 cc per side (500 cc total, or 500 vials) is $200000 at $400 per vial, or $150000 at $300 per vial. Are willing to pay that? What if a provider buys in bulk to reduce their cost of product? (Having performed many filler based hip dip injections, I have gotten such price reductions.) At $200 per vial (50% off), it's still $100000, and I remind you this is just product cost, not including the fee for service. As you can see, it would be a waste of money for you to invest in these low volume injections that will have little to no impact on your hip dips. Instead, you would be an excellent candidate for liposuction and fat grafting, a process that is far more effective (and permanent) at improving hip dip and buttock contours.
