What should I do about my teeth? Bonding and Braces. (Photo)

When I was 8 I fell and chipped my 2 front teeth (No Pictures) At 9 I had them bonded or thats what I was told. I didnt have a say in how they'd look or color. My parents decided for me. I am now 24. Last August I got braces to straighten my teeth. My ortho recomm. Veneers for my 2 front teeth and 2 small teeth on each side. I'm wondering what would happen if I got the bonding removed after braces. I don't remember what my teeth looked like& if this will have defeated the purpose of the braces.

Like anything it depends. Generally its recommended to very lightly roughen the tooth surface.  This enables the filling material to stick better.

The black triangle can be minimized with slenderizing to make the teeth less triangular. This needs to be done during orthodontic treatment so that the spaces can be closed. Bonding can also improve the esthetics but it will need to be replaced periodically. The bonding should not stain from...

Etching removes minerals from the tooth surface to aid in bonding. It makes the tooth surface rough. This will not be fixed by rehydration. The tooth needs to be polished to a shine.
