Can Evoke treatments make melasma worse?

I am looking at getting Evoke treatments but have some melasma and or brown spots on my cheek. Could this treatment aggravate it, make it worse or is it a safe option? Thank you!

RF treatments work by generating heat and, as such, may engender inflammation that could potentially worsen melasma or other brown spots. There are a number of other time honored and time-tested treatments for melasma that you may wish to consider. These include the at-home use of topical, prescription bleaching creams coupled with the in-office use of a superficial peeling agents, which can include low concentration TCA peels, Jessner's peels, and high concentration glycolic acid or salicylic acid peels. Make sure to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist and not simply any venue hawling the latest, relatively expensive "bells and whistles" device it has just purchased.
