I was taking finasteride for almost 5 months. I did not notice any improvement with my hairline but I did notice that my shoulder hair had completely fallen out as well as maybe 30- 40% of my chest and stomach hair. Is this a normal side effect?

Answer: Loss of Body Hair with Propecia I have seen this happen infrequently, but it does happen. The cause may be the dependence of body hair on DHT. I pubished an article on Baldingblog on this very subject. See web reference below

In different individuals it works differently and may cause a certain reaction. If you notice hair loss of your body hair, it could be a reaction from propecia.
