Is it safe to dilute dermal filler before injecting?

A provider plans to dilute dermal filler before injecting the filler into my lateral cheeks. Is this safe? Does it diminish the length of time the filler will last?

Hello! There are providers who dilute the filler to allow greater volume or decreases in viscosity for certain areas. I don't know if there's any evidence to support that it decreases the longevity. As for safety, there should not be a concern if done properly.

Hi, that is a great question! Filler dilution does not effect the longevity of the filler. Diluting the filler allows for the filler to be spread out thinner over an area. Filler Dilution is safe to use in many areas of the face.
