The tattoo is on my sternum, in between/below my breasts. It is 2x1in. I am dark skinned, so I would prefer to have my tattoo removed surgically. I do not mind having a scar, which I would prefer over the tattoo. Are there any doctors who can/will perform this procedure?

Darker colors are easier to remove than light tattoo colors, but the removal process is still gradual. The PicoWay laser would be the best choice to remove the shading from your tattoo, as its wavelength can be adjusted based on hue. You need to wait a couple of months after you had your tattoo...
Thank you for your question. It looks like from your photos you are having a great outcome. Yes, it is normal for a black tattoo to fade to brown. This can happen due to the ink used or your skin type. If you have any other concerns please contact your treating physician. Best of Luck!
That is a very large piece and it has some difficult colors in it ...blues..green. By using a multiple wavelength PICO laser you should get good results. You need to see someone with good experience in colored pieces. you also should expected around 12 treatments. Good luck!
