Will I regain pigmentation in my areola and nipples? (photos)

Good question. Without examining you it is difficult to predict however it seems that you have suffered some superficial necrosis of the areola. It is a bit early to know exactly what will happen but it is likely that there will be some pigmentary difference between the portion that sloughed off and the rest of the areola. It may be lighter or darker than the rest, and it is possible that the difference will not be noticeable. It would be advisable to see your plastic surgeon for a proper examination to get their opinion. Best of luck.

Four to five pounds is a major reduction and I imagine this has made a wonderful change in your life! Epidermolysis, or shedding of the outermost layer of the skin where the pigment resides is quite common after large reductions such as yours. Usually the pigment returns over a period of months.
