Itching tattoo I’m wondering if getting it lasered off will stop the itching and the reaction.
Answer: Itching Tattoo I'm assuming that this is a new tattoo and it just started itching. It sounds like you may have an allergy to some of the components of the red ink. This is not an uncommon reaction, but lasering it is not the answer and could potentially make things worse You will need to be treated for an allergic reaction by a medical professional. You can start by taking an over-the-counter antihistamine such as benadryl or Zyrtec but you will probably need stronger, prescription medications. Good luck

Answer: Tattoo Removal Thank you for your question in regards to tattoo removal. Removing the tattoo can help alleviate itching. Although, several treatments will be required for complete removal and it is likely that the area will become more itchy as the laser treatments break down the ink partials. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

Answer: Red ink - Itching Hello, thank you for providing a photo. I have seen this many times where the red ink causes an allergic reaction. I have removed this successfully, but it will get really itchy when the laser breaks up the ink as your body is exposed to more particles. Then, as you lose your ink the itching will get better and better. I also love that your red ink does not appear too thick which means it will most likely clear easier and with less treatments. Also, you should go through tattoo removal with a doctor or nurse providing the treatments as you may need prescriptions to get you through this. I have see the PicoWay be very successful in removing red ink like yours. I wish you the best!
