How long does an Invisalign retainer last?

My daughter will take out her braces next week, her doctor told me that one pair of invisalign retainer cost $400, and if I order 4 pairs will be $800, but it will last for the life time. It's true? Thanks.

The retainer program that Invisalign provides is called Vivera, they provide you with 4 sets of retainers that should last 2 years each.  8 years total. They certainly will not last a lifetime just so you know.  We charge 500 in Philadelphia but doctors can charge what they wantGood luck

Dear Ayiu,The four Invisalign retainers should last a long time but not a lifetime. Each set of Invisalign retainers usually last anywhere from 2 to 5 years. Usually, the single set of clear retainers that aren't made by Invisalign last 1-3 years.
