Hi, thanks for your question. Typically we don't recommend drinking any alcohol prior to your surgery. Alcohol can inhibit healing, can thin the blood, as well as cause complications when it comes to general anesthesia, so it's best to abstain, especially the day before your surgery. That said, your surgeon will have their own pre and post-operative guidelines that you should follow carefully. I recommend speaking directly to your surgeon about these and any other concerns that you might have about your upcoming surgery.
Drinking even moderate amounts of alcohol prior to surgery could slow down recovery and weaken the immune system. The majority of surgeons recommend that patients abstain from alcohol closer to two weeks prior to surgery. These protocols vary with the surgeon, so to be safe, ask your board certified plastic surgeon this question during consultation.
Dear Independent563253,every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. You should avoid alcohol prior to surgery. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Dear Independent563253, thanks for sharing your question, it is not recommended to drink alcohol the day before of your surgery. Make sure you go on consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Hope this helps and best of lucks. Dr. Luis Mejia.
Simply the fact that you needed to ask the question on real self makes me wonder if perhaps alcohol consumption has gotten ahead of itself in your life.People I don’t have issues with alcohol should simply abstain without needing to ask.If going without alcohol for more than a day is an issue then perhaps you should consider eliminating alcohol from your life.If the doctor says it’s OK to have a glass of wine are you going to have one glass of wine or more than that?I think most doctors would recommend not drinking the day before surgery. That is my recommendation.I also recommend not drinking alcohol at all if alcohol is causing quality-of-life to be diminished in anyway.Every community has support for those wishing to stop drinkingIf that’s you simply reach out to the AA community which is there for anyone who wants support. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinkingBest, Mats Hagstrom MD
Thank you for your pictures and questions. I think that you might be a reasonable candidate for a liposuction procedure. However, I think that your goal photos do not show a reasonable expectation of outcome in your case due to differences in body makeup. Make sure you have realistic...
Dear Sociable35894, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You will need a clearance from your doctor and very good preoperative preparation. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you...
There are a lot of females who can get nice results from the BBL despite thinking that there is not enough fat. The thinner patient requires an expert at liposuction to remove as much fat as possible while leaving the skin smooth. Fat can be harvested from the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms,...

In most cases, liposuction and BBL can performed even if tummy tuck is indicated if pregnancy in the future is planned. You may be able to avoid the TT, but this will depend upon your exam and the precision with which the liposuction is performed. How flat the abdomen will be will depend upon...
This will depend upon the severity of the MCTD. In lupus specifically, certain organ systems of the body may be affected. Any organ damage that the lupus has caused as well as the medications that you take must be evaluated carefully by your rheumatologist before even considering the BBL. You...
