Can zerona laser treatment mess up my bbl?

I am nearly 12 weeks post op bbl and just got Zerona treatments on my arms . I noticed that the laser removed all throughout my body and some places even though the skin was not expose other than my arms. Can this penetrate through clothes? And can the fat cells communicate causing me to lose some of my hips or butt where fat was recently transferred to ?

I think it’s unlikely that having Zerona® body contouring treatment on your arms would have any effect on your BBL and it’s definitely not the case that the fat cells have been communicating. I can understand your concern about compromising the results of something you’ve worked hard for, but you shouldn’t worry yourself about it. If you’re keen to have your mind put to rest, contact the cosmetic surgeon who performed the procedure and request a follow-up appointment where the results can be assessed.

Although, fat cells don't communicate with one another, it is possible that their can be a small residual effect of the Zerona treatment away from the areas that receive the direct laser light.   This is due to the fact that laser light results in a photo chemical reaction on the fat cells.  The light stimulates the release of chemicals which increase the metabolic activity of the fat cells resulting in the fat cell decreasing in size.  Since some of these chemicals are released in the blood stream the effect of the laser light can be seen in areas not directly struck by the light.   However, you should not worry excessively about ruining your BBL result.    The maximal effect of the Zerona treatment is seen in the areas where the fat cells are directly exposed to the Zerona laser light.  I doubt that Zerona treatment of your arms will damage the BBL results.  Best wishes, Dr. Lepore.
