I have had two schlerotherapy sessions on my right leg for surface veins. When the first treatment was not successful, my doctor strengthened the solution, and really worked on me. Six or so weeks later, the surface veins are worse with one large red blob appearing. I have had a scan and have no problems in that regard.

Answer: Sclerotherapy Sclerotherapy is a process and may average 3 to 5 sessions depending on the amount and size of the veins. It is good that you had a scan but make sure that the scan was looking for valvular reflux and not DVT. It would be helpful if you enclosed a picture. Also see if your doctor used foam which may be more effective for you than saline.

Answer: Sclerotherapy It’s not un common for patients to have this reaction to sclerotherapy. Veins can get quite irritated with higher concentrations of the agent used. I recommend warm compress and compression over the area and allow time to heal before any further treatment . It can take several months to see results.
