Blister like bump formed after lip fillers (Photo)

Question

I got my lips filled with less than 1ml of filler (unknown what kind). I noticed a blister like bump forming a few hours after the treatment. Two days after treatment it became more like a blister so I went to check with a doctor who didn’t inject it but was in charge of organising it. He told me it was like a blister that will go down. Three days on and the bump has not improved or worsened. It doesn’t hurt but it’s bruised.

Thankyou for your question. I would say that your filler has been placed too superficially  . This will not disappear unless you dissolve some of the product. It also appears that you were inject with bolus doses and your lips look irregular. This could be just the swelling. If your upper lip is still larger than your lower lip after 2 weeks you have had too much in the area as its meant to be smaller. I would wait a week for the bruising to settle and then see your injector. Good luck

It is possible that the bump is excess filler, which should be easily dissolvable with hyaluronidase.  It is too early for nodule formation or granuloma formation to occur.  It is unlikely to be infectious either.
