Does long term use of Finacea cause skin damage?

Hey ! I have been using Finacea every morning and evening the last three years. My doctor has prescribed it to me to reduce bumps and pimples (rosacea or perioral dermatitis). How long can I use Finacea without damaging my skin? I'm fair skinned

Thanks for your question, and I think this brings up a very interesting and important conversation: how long do we use our medicines?  You should ask these questions to your board-certified dermatologist who uses Finacea for the treatment of rosacea as one of the first-line therapies. Finacea is azaleic acid. One of the interesting things we have learned about this drug is that its topical use is actually a really good anti-aging topical medication – so its long-term use is actually beneficial to your skin. You can use it for years and years and will do just fine. Someday we also might see a new azaleic acid compound dedicated to photo aging and skin rejuvenation — stay tuned.
