Is it okay to stop the Accutane for a few days because I’m sick?

Hi, I’m on Accutane since February. So its about to be my 3rd month. I’m on 60/mg/day I’ve been having sore throat feel like I’m coming down with something 2 days ago. My throats is really irritated. My doctors office is closed right now .

Thank you for your question.Stopping Accutane therapy if feeling under the weather is not necessary unless you start taking oral antibiotics. Oral antibiotics and Accutane can interact and affect your liver, so if starting any oral antibiotics, then holding Accutane for a few days would be appropriate. It's best not to go off the medication UNLESS you are put on some type of antibiotic for your throat.
