I had a root canal I never got it capped/crowned. Just now, the tooth fell out, will I be ok to just move on so to speak?

Sometimes teeth come out in one piece, but root canal treated teeth comonly come out in pieces.  You should have an xray ASAP to make sure nothing else is happening.  Then a decision must be made about replacing the missing tooth.

there may well be remaining root and root filling material that needs to be gently extracted out or simply flushed out with sterile solution. 
You need to see a dentist and have an x-ray to know the best way to proceed. If there are materials left in and you leave it, it will likely cause an abscess and lots of pain in the future requiring a cut in the gum. 
Better to sort it out now
