Breast reduction can certainly be combined with liposuction. However there is a limit to how much fat can be removed at one setting. The plastic surgery society recommends a maximum of 5000 cc's should be removed at one time. However, if you will be having breast reduction at the same time, I would lower that volume recommendation a bit, maybe to around 3000 cc's.
We routinely perform combined procedures on patients in order to achieve our goal in 1 operation. This does not mean that we perform unsafe surgery that is over 6 hours or do "too much".There is a limit as to how much can be done but since we are 2 board certified plastic surgeons at Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group, we can perform multiple areas in less time. Less operative time means less anesthesia time and faster recovery.Best of luck with everything.
Thank you very much for this interested question. I always recommend to the patients that want to perform BR and Lipo at the same time, to get liposuction first and after 2 or 3 month come back to get Breast procedure done. This is recommendable to the patients for health and safety reasons.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Dear Perfection94,Some plastic surgeons may want to split this into two operations depending on the time needed. Its best to see a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine your options and whether it would take too long, more than 4 hours, to do all. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question. Yes you can get these procedures in the same surgery. They are often performed in mommy makeovers. Combination procedures can give powerful results but SAFETY is KEY. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
Thank you for your question. In some instance, multiple procedures can be performed simultaneously. However, without an in-person examination, it's impossible to determine which procedures would be best for you and your post-surgery goals. We recommend scheduling a consultation with your plastic surgeon to further discuss the surgical options available and address any of your concerns. Best of Luck!
Thanks so much for reaching out. Multiple procedures can be performed at once (i.e. Mommy Makeover) what is important is that it is done safely and it will depend on how much time is needed in order to get it done. I would suggest you start by going on a few in person consultations with experienced board certified surgeons and you can discuss all options in detail. best of luck! Dr. Kachenmeister
Thank you for the question. Generally speaking, these types of combination surgical procedures are done routinely. However, you are wise in being concerned about the safety of combination surgery; risks/possible complications do increase with increased length of surgery… It is best to evaluate each patient's suitability for combination surgery on an individualized basis. During this consultation process, after a complete history and physical, the SAFETY of combining these surgical procedures becomes of paramount importance. Plastic surgeon, anesthesia provider, duration of surgery, surgery facility all important considerations. Your best bet: choose your plastic surgeon very carefully; everything else including good judgment/advice/planning, anesthesia provider and safe surgery facility will follow. I would suggest starting with the American Society of Plastic Surgery and/or the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons. Then, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. Ask to SEE lots of examples of their work AND preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures done. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
As you know, loss of feeling in the nipples is a risk of a breast reduction but often the feeling returns with time. Be optimistic. I think at this point in time this could just be from swelling.
I'm afraid that reduction to an A cup is risky in that it will take away most of your shape. An uplift without reduction (or with minor reduction) may be a better solution for you but without some volume there is little shape IMHO.Meet with some local board certified (ABPS) surgeons to discuss...
Thanks for your question. At 4 days out, I think it is appropriate to continue taking that dosage if you are not having any issues. For my patients, I would feel that this amount is ok to continue taking, but I recommend checking with your plastic surgeon to discuss what their protocols are and...
