Hi, I had a recurring breast desmoid. It has shrunk from chemo treatments. I lost most of my breasts due to the reduction surgeries and the tissue taken out with the lumpectomies. I am interested in implants (#1 choice); my oncologist said there's not much literature on this due to desmoids being so rare. So I'm reaching out to see if anyone has input- is it too much of a risk?If theres alternatives? I'm in my early 20s, I just want my body back! Thanks!

Hello thank you for your question. It really depends on the plastic surgeon you have some will feel comfortable with it depending on your detailed history. Speak to your plastic surgeon and the general surgeon who has removed the desmoid.

If the tumor is still present, you would do best to have it removed and then have implants or even more specific reconstructive surgery.
