9 year old implants - can redness be a sign of leaking? (photos)

It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon and dermatologist for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Hi. This looks to me like a skin rash and is most probably unrelated to your implants. I believe you should be seen by a dermatologist for a proper evaluation. Nonetheless, because your implants are 9 years old, breast imaging like an MRI o a mammogram are a good idea if you haven’t had one recently.

Based on your photo you need to contact your surgeon or primary care physician for an appointment. Proper treatment will be ordered after an evaluation. It may be an allergy unrelated to the implants.

Your implants are old enough that they do need to be checked with an ultrasound or mammogram. However, this rash looks more like psoriasis, and I would suggest seeing a dermatologist.

The redness on your breast is not related to your implant, but may represent something that should be treated.
Based on the pictures, it looks like you have a rash, but should this represent an early bacterial infection called cellulitis then it’s very important to get it treated as soon as possible.

The presence of the red and apparently raised rash on your left breast requires an immediate evaluation by your plastic surgeon. This may or may not be implant related. This can be a skin issue (like atopc dermatitis or herpes zoster) or an underlying problem in the breast tissue.
My best advice would be to call and see your plastic surgeon for and examination at this time.
