Do not focus on the specific laser used for your treatment as much as the experience and expertise of the physician performing the procedure. For example, I have developed a proprietary treatment I call the Take10, which uses a combination of lasers to turn back the clock on your appearance by up to 10 years or more. I do use a CO2 laser for many of these procedures, but I might add a vascular or pico second laser to ensure I address all the aging symptoms in the treatment area. I encourage you to find a very experienced, board-certified dermatologist with expertise in a wide range of laser and energy devices. Through an in-person assessment and discussion of your needs and goals, your doctor will create a customized treatment plan that will produce the best results for you.
Fraxel and/or CO2 are best for resurfacing, but Erbium is a good alternative. I always combine lasers with microneedling/PRP for more robust outcomes. For skin tightening, I recommend a combination of Ultherapy with RF treatments and Sculptra for skin tightening. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for the question. In my opinion, the brand of the laser matters much less than the settings chosen and the delivery of the treatment. Assuming your provider has a modern machine that is appropriately calibrated, a CO2 laser is like any other instrument. Familiarity with the tool, its settings, and clinical judgement are the most important factors. Best of luck moving forward!
As eluded by others, it is the specialist and not really the brand. I use a variety of CO2 lasers including Mixto CO2, CORE CO2, Fraxel Re:Pair CO2, as well as Lumenis- Deep /Active/Scar etc. The selection of laser is based upon your skin type and clinical examination. All the best, Dr Davin S. Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
