Question

I'm 3.5 weeks post op, I went to my follow up 4 days ago and mentioned to my PS about bruising in my right breast and he says that's normal . My left one seems to be healing normally but there is bruising on my right breast that I'm concerned about and it is also hard when I touch it which I didn't realize it was hard until today.

Thanks for sharing your experience after surgery. It's not uncommon to have asymmetric bruising and firmness after breast reduction surgery. After all, the breasts are not identical twins. Often, plastic surgeons find that the anatomy of the breasts is subtly different. This can cause slight differences in the rates of healing between the two sides. A bit of bruising and firmness is normal after surgery and should resolve in time. If it continues to bother you, I recommend you return to your surgeon for regular examinations.
