Will Botox help my asymmetric smile?
Answer: Downturned Smile / Permanent Frown -- Combination of Fillers, Botox/Dysport/Jeuveau, RF Treatments (Thermage, Venus Legacy) A downturned smile or permanent frown can be improved with a combination approach, including neuromodulators (such as Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau), injectable fillers, and radiofrequency skin tightening treatments such as Thermage or Venus Legacy. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist to develop a treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: How to even out a crooked smile Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photo, it appears that your smile is slightly lower on one side. This is typically a muscular issue that can be treated conservatively with Botox injections. Botox relaxes the muscle it treats, which can help balance out your smile. Before seeking treatment, I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon to discuss your options.

Answer: Smile asymmetry It looks like the right side of your lower lip pulls down a tiny bit more than on your left. Your upper lip tracks straight across your upper teeth and is in a good position. In this case, a small amount of neurotoxin in a muscle called the depressor anguli oris (DAO) on the right would be a smart move. It’s a temporary treatment - so if it’s not your thing, it will fade in about four months. (Sometimes these little imperfections turn out to be something we actually miss). Make sure you see a board certified dermatologist for your procedure. Although it only takes a few minutes, the placement of the injection has to be perfect.

Answer: Botox Fixes Facial Asymmetry When facial asymmetry is caused by muscular hypertrophy or hyperactivity, it can be corrected with Botox. Proper treatment of facial asymmetry requires extensive knowledge of facial anatomy and the advanced skill of an experienced Aesthetic Expert. This concern is easily correctable with a small and painless injection of Botox, giving you 3-6 months of correction until the Botox wears off. Once the Botox wears off completely, you can choose to maintain this result by getting retreated.
